Most large phones fit our waterproof pocket. It's 201 × 140mm inside with a 158mm opening, which takes phones up to the iPhone 15 Pro Max, Galaxy S24 Ultra and Pixel 8 Pro in a slim case. Folding phones don't fit when open. If your phone's dimensions plus case are under those measurements, it will slide in.
How to check your phone
- Look up your phone's height and width (or measure it in its case).
- Compare the width to the 158mm opening, and the height to the 201mm inside length.
- Leave a little room. A phone that just fits is harder to slide in with wet hands.
Our phone fit guide lists popular models.
What about cases?
- Slim cases: usually fine.
- Rugged or wallet cases: can be too thick. Take the phone out of a bulky case for swimming, or check the measurements with the case on.
Can I fit more than a phone?
Yes. Alongside most phones there's room for a car key, a card and some folded cash.
Why size matters for waterproofing
A pocket that's overstuffed puts strain on the seal. Our pocket closes itself with magnets, and it seals best when it isn't forced shut over a phone that's too big.
Which shorts have this pocket?
All of our AquaStash swim shorts, including the men's black swim shorts, women's Hinterland Green and The Pass mid-length. Other brands we stock have their own pocket sizes, listed on each product page.
