At a water park, the main options for your phone are a paid locker, a bag at a table, or a sealed waterproof pocket on you. Lockers are great for bags and shoes. For your phone, card and car key, a waterproof pocket means you don't have to walk back to the locker every time you want to pay for food or take a photo.
Check the park rules first
Some rides don't allow loose items, and rules differ between parks and rides. Check the park website before you go and follow the ride staff on the day.
Option 1: lockers
Good for shoes, towels and bags. Downsides: the cost, the queue and the walk back every time you need something.
Option 2: a bag at your table
Easy, but busy parks are full of tables with bags left unattended while everyone is on the slides.
Option 3: a sealed pocket on you
Our swim shorts have a hidden waterproof pocket, sealed by magnets and IPX8-rated to 30 metres, so your phone, card and key stay with you in the wave pool and lazy river. Where a ride doesn't allow anything in pockets, leave them in the locker for that ride.
Family tips
- Pick a meeting spot in case anyone gets separated.
- Write your mobile number on a wristband for young kids.
- One parent carries the phone and card on them; the bag stays in the locker.
What we'd wear
For women, our Hinterland Green swim shorts or The Pass mid-length. For men, the black swim shorts. For the kids, bright Randy Cow kids swim shorts.
FAQs
Can I take my phone on water slides?
It depends on the park and the ride. Always follow the ride rules and staff instructions.
Is a waterproof pocket better than a locker?
Use both: the locker for bags, the pocket for your phone, card and key between rides.
